Russia's lower house of parliament, the Duma, on Tuesday
passed a law bans anti-propaganda and disseminate information about the kind of
relationship in the capital Moscow. Almost all members of parliament approved
its passage.
Page CBS News said as many as 436 members of parliament
approved the law states. Only one person who abstained, namely Ilya Ponomaryov,
who claims to support gay activists protest.
Parliament's approval of a bill was reasonable for Russia to
maintain the traditional values of Western liberalism waves. According to the government of
President Vladimir Putin and the Russian Orthodox Church, is considered a type
of propaganda relationships corrupting youth.
In addition, similar relationships is also considered as one
of the factors that make the Russian population decreased dramatically.
Previously, this Act has received preliminary approval in January.
Law enforcement officials to replace the phrase
"homosexual propaganda" in the Act was a "non-traditional sexual
propaganda", which can mean a relationship that did not produce offspring.
The next process before the law actually implemented is to
be approved by the upper house of Parliament and signed by President Vladimir
Putin.
Under this law, for those who disseminate information about
the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transsexual) or hold public
demonstrations in support of the group, would be fined five thousand rubles for
individual actors and one million rubles for the group or the media.
This ratification loud protests by gay activists who staged
outside the parliament building in Moscow. Dozens of these homosexuals kissing
each other to express their protest.
The homosexual group of about 200 activists clashed with
supporters of anti-gay laws. Gay was pelted with eggs and a target of violence.
The two sides clashed successfully dilerai by security forces. A total of 20
gay activists were detained in the incident.
