Collapsed buildings in Philadelphia, One Killed

PHILADELPHIA - An old building to be demolished suddenly collapsed and hit a shop which is opposite. The incident killed one woman and injured 13 others.

Form the collapsed apartment building, accompanied by rumbling sounds on Wednesday, June 5 local time. Collapse of the building with bricks rained into the surrounding area. Apparently, hail and other building materials that cause the dead and wounded.

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter ensure is 35-year-old woman, but he did not explain further information regarding the victims.

While rescuers worked for hours to remove the residents reportedly still trapped in collapsed buildings. Most of them are stuck, are in a store that almost vanished ruins of buildings affected by that terrible.

"We do not know exactly how many people were in the store, when the building collapsed," said Mayor Nutter, as quoted by Sky News, Thursday (06/06/2013).

Not known exactly what causes the building collapsed. Witnesses who are not far from the scene, said he only heard a roar and suddenly the building has collapsed, leaving rubble.
